I loved it!!! I watched with my dog and my Pattern blow dryer next to me. It came in the mail and I made it a whole Tracee Ellis Ross experience to celebrate another advancement in my beautiful hair journey.

Her personal musings into the camera were my absolute favorite. The way she prioritized her fashion and feeling beautiful. Her love of water and how it didn’t even feel like swimming, it felt more spiritual and ritualistic. I could relate to her on so much and that is what made it so great.

From my perspective, American society has a weird celebrity/influencer idolization thing that I have never been a fan of. They are simply humans with money in the bank due to a career choice that puts them in the public eye.

Tracee seemed to intentionally make herself feel human to her audience and that was the priority. Being herself, no emphasis on being some untouchable celebrity. It made me love her more than I did before.

Badiana! I've been eyeing the steamer, how is the blow dryer?

And Tracee has really found her niche; her personal musings were my absolute favorite part as well. These are the nuanced thoughts that I'm sure run through all of our minds while solo travelling. And they were so poignant. I appreciated how genuine she was about everything - like, yes, I'm a celebrity, but I knock glasses over too and pack for the possibility of running into a dreamboat. Love Tracee, and loved this show!

Anayo! It is worth it for the diffuser alone.

I used the diffuser and the comb attachment (it comes with 4 attachments). The diffuser attachment was AHMAZING!! The comb attachment could be amazing but honestly I’m so not used to using a blow dryer. My feeble wrists were limp and awkwardly angled, I didn’t feel like I was maximizing the benefit of the comb attachment. I have super thick hair and have been heatless for years now.

I’m at a point where the length/maintenance can benefit from a low heat and diffusing product through my ends for retention of length.

I have not figured out my technique yet with the blow dryer. Aside from my lack of skill the blow dryer is such a quality product and the attachments stay on without moving which is huge and I love the look and feel of it.

I braided my hair for now but next wash day I want to use the brush attachment. I think that will be a better fit for how much hair I have on my head.

Ok you're selling me! My current blow dryer has a comb attachment but flies off constantly. I damn near broke my mirror once lol. Do you do wash and go's? I know diffusers are great for those, but I haven't attempted that style yet so I'm not sure what else people use diffusers for. In any case, I hope you get the hang of it - sounds so luxe!

Please be careful when you solo travel especially to third world countries. The Devil is alive and well

This is a fantastic read. But do not take off with those strangers you don't know after accepting their free drinks & company. It can be problematic.

I am looking forward to checking out the show. I'm preparing for my first solo-trip abroad. I'm going to Greece for a writing residency. Of course, I built in a few days before and after for "just me" exploring and relaxing. I've taken solo trips before domestically. There is something so wonderful about taking my sweet time, changing my mind, and just being with my own energy. There are no arguments! Thank you for this.
