Welcome to ANAYOTOTHE

Where wanderlust meets adulting. ANAYOTOTHE explores the intersection of travel, Blackness, and womanhood. Black women are travelling more than ever, and here, we’ll talk about our uniques experiences as we show up in the world.

Expect musings on the joys (and curveballs) of being a 30-something, essays, honest travel advice that saves you time and money, and answers to the travel (and life) questions you’re too embarrassed to Google. We’ll dive into where to go, what to do, and how to plan trips that feel true to you—now what some luxury creator is influencing you to do. All while exploring what it means to grow, change, and embrace curiosity along the way.

Happy to have you here!

Btw, my name is Anayo, and I want you to see some world. I want you to try new foods, see new places, meet new people, and fall in love with taking the windy path of life. I grew up pretty shy, naive, and reserved, then I took my first solo trip to London and found my voice and confidence (more on that story here). I haven’t stopped exploring since, and with each trip I found my footing and myself. I want that for you too!

If you love the idea of travel but hate the endless scrolling to plan it, or you’re simply seeking fresh perspectives on balancing exploration and everyday life—you’re in the right place! This space is for inspiring you to get out and explore—through messy travel stories, culture tea, and reflections on living a life less linear in your 20s, 30s, and beyond! Whether you’re debating if a trip is worth the hype (or that person you want to bring on the trip is worth the hype)—ANAYOTOTHE is where we’ll indulge in hot tea over a pot of chai tea.

Think of me as your travel bestie that shares her crazy (and sometimes inspiring) travel stories of her adventures around the world, puts you on to the best spots and experiences, and is also down to give you general life advice (or sit and cry while you give me yours) over a steaming bowl of dumplings.

Here you’ll find:

Random Observations: My very random takes on a city. I observe what’s interesting/strange/questionable and share with you in a neatly packaged list that you may either throw your head back and howl at or silently read without so much as a smirk.

Postcards From: A travelogue from a place I recently visited. I share my thoughts on the city, hot topics, and my recommendations for what to do: see, eat, play, and explore.

Travel Essays: Here is where I share my hot travel takes, personal essays exploring the places I’ve been, and travel culture
